My first trip to Seoul was with my family, and I remember wanting more time to explore the city. Two years later, I came back — this time with a friend — and we made sure the trip was longer so we could enjoy everything at a slower pace. One of the things we were both set on from the start was visiting YM Tattoo again.
Since the last visit felt rushed, we wanted this trip to be the opposite. We built our travel plan around places we didn’t get to see last time — and YM Tattoo easily became part of the core schedule. It felt nice coming in with a familiar memory from two years ago.
Before leaving for Korea, we contacted the studio through Instagram. The communication was quick and clear, and securing the reservation was easy. Having everything arranged in advance made the entire trip feel smoother, especially since we were planning to stay in Seoul much longer this time.
One of the best parts of returning was meeting the same artist who worked with us two years ago. It felt familiar right away. They remembered the general style we liked and helped us pick new designs without rushing the process. That alone made the revisit feel meaningful.
With more time on our hands, we walked through Hongdae without rushing. The streets were full of small shops and pop-up stores, and there was always something happening — people taking pictures, checking out new fashion stands, or just hanging out in groups. The atmosphere felt bright and welcoming, and spending time in the area made the visit to the tattoo studio feel even more enjoyable.
Coming back to Seoul for a second time and revisiting YM Tattoo made this trip feel connected to the first one in a good way. The longer stay, the familiar artist, and the ease of booking all added up to a comfortable and memorable experience. We both walked out feeling glad we came back.
